UBITECH participated in the ETSI SNS4SNS 2026 event, held from February 2–5, 2026, at the ETSI Headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France, reinforcing its active role in European research, open-source ecosystems, and technical standardization.

Representing UBITECH were Georgios P. Katsikas, Nikos Psaromanolakis, and Apostolos Prassas, who delivered multiple talks, tutorials, and demonstrations across key ETSI tracks, contributing to the advancement of interoperable, next-generation network infrastructures.

UBITECH Joins the IRONPLAN EDF Research Action Towards Next-Generation Command and Control Systems

UBITECH is pleased to announce its participation in IRONPLAN — Integrated Reconfigurable Operational Planning, Navigation, Communication, and Coordination — a newly launched Research Action funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF). The project officially kicked off on 17–18 February 2026 in Cyprus, hosted by the coordinating partner Cyprus Research and Innovation Center Ltd (CYRIC), bringing together a strong European consortium committed to reinforcing the EU’s strategic autonomy in defence technologies. Running from December 2025 to November 2028, IRONPLAN (GA Nr. 101224513) is a 36-month initiative that aims to empower the European Union with technological independence in the development of next-generation Command and Control (C2) systems. The project sets out to create the first ‘smart,’ transparent, and verifiable C2 system, seamlessly integrating robotic and autonomous systems (RAS) across all areas of military operations, while leveraging EU-funded technologies and developing new ones where needed.

UBITECH Joins WEM Cyber to Strengthen Women’s Participation and Excellence in Cybersecurity Across Europe

UBITECH is pleased to announce its participation in the WEM Cyber project (Widening Excellence and Mentoring in Cybersecurity), a 36-month Horizon Europe initiative, with Grant Agreement Number 101216854, officially launched at its Kick-off Meeting on 27 February 2026, hosted by Bilisim Vadisi in Istanbul, Turkey. The project brings together a multidisciplinary European consortium committed to advancing women’s careers in cybersecurity, fostering academia–industry collaboration, and building research capacity across Widening countries. WEM Cyber’s mission is to boost women’s participation and expertise in cybersecurity through targeted secondments, mentorship, and skills development programmes. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, the project aims to build research capacity and facilitate knowledge exchange, equipping participants with the entrepreneurial and leadership skills necessary to excel, and thereby contribute to the mitigation of brain drain in widening countries.

UBITECH Joins the SONIC Digital Europe Action to Advance Cybersecurity and Supply Chain Resilience for Digital Infrastructures

UBITECH announces its participation in SONIC (Strategic Isolation and Policy-driven Attack Surface Reduction), a newly launched action co-funded by the Digital Europe Programme of the European Union. The project officially kicked off on 16 February 2026 in Athens, Greece, with the launch event graciously hosted by ATHENA Research Center. SONIC is coordinated by the Technical University of Crete (TUC) and brings together a consortium of distinguished European partners. Running from January 2026 to December 2028, the 36-month initiative is registered under Grant Agreement No. 101168486 and represents a significant step forward in the European effort to build more secure and resilient digital ecosystems. The digital landscape is increasingly threatened by vulnerabilities embedded within software and hardware supply chains, compounded by the inherent complexities of deploying systems across heterogeneous infrastructures. SONIC addresses these pressing challenges head-on by designing and developing a suite of novel technologies specifically aimed at tackling intricate security issues arising from such vulnerabilities. The project’s overarching ambition is to fortify digital infrastructures and systems, substantially augmenting their overall resilience against evolving cyber threats.

UBITECH Joins European Clean Energy Initiative FLEXI to Advance AI-Driven Energy Flexibility Markets

FLEXI represents a transformative approach to energy management by placing citizens at the heart of the clean energy transition through cutting-edge generative artificial intelligence and large language models. UBITECH Extends Research Collaboration with Eugonia Securing Funding for Two Pioneering AI-Driven IVF Research Projects

UBITECH announces the successful funding of two research projects focused on artificial intelligence applications in assisted reproduction. Both projects, conducted in partnership with “Eugonia Assisted Reproduction Unit”, have been awarded grants under the “Research – Innovate” Action of the “Competitiveness” Program NSRF 2021-2027 (Call Code 08KE – MIS Code 9833), co-financed by the European Union and national resources through NSRF 2021-2027. Building on its successful collaboration with Eugonia, one of Europe’s leading assisted reproduction centers internationally recognized for scientific excellence, UBITECH will serve as the technology partner for two complementary AI-powered clinical decision support systems designed to revolutionize in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment optimization.

UBITECH and QUBITECH Launch ORQESTRA: A Flagship European Defence Fund Project Advancing Quantum-Resistant Security for Next-Generation Defence Systems

UBITECH, together with its quantum technology subsidiary QUBITECH, announces the official launch of ORQESTRA (Orchestrating the Operational Deployment of Quantum Resistant Services for Next-Generation Secure Defence Systems and Communications), a flagship European Defence Fund (EDF) research initiative that marks a transformative step in securing Europe’s defence infrastructure against quantum-era cyber threats. The project officially kicked off with a consortium meeting hosted by UBITECH in Athens on January 29-30, 2026. ORQESTRA represents one of the most ambitious European initiatives in the convergence of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD) technologies for defence applications. With a total duration of 36 months spanning from December 2025 to November 2028, the project brings together leading European defence organizations, research institutions, and technology innovators under the coordination of UBITECH and the technical coordination of QUBITECH. The project operates under Grant Agreement number 101224573.

UBITECH Launches LLM4CIP Digital Europe Action to Advance AI-Driven Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure Protection

UBITECH Launches KINETIKA Innovation Action to Advance the Digitization and Analysis of Dynamic Cultural Heritage Objects

UBITECH announces the official launch of KINETIKA, a new EU co-funded Innovation Action titled “Advancing the Digitization and Analysis of Dynamic Cultural Heritage Objects”, marking a significant step forward in the protection, understanding and sustainable management of complex cultural artefacts. The project’s kick-off meeting is hosted by the coordinating partner, Universidad de Salamanca, and takes place on 21 January 2026 in Spain. Funded under Grant Agreement No. 101233379, KINETIKA runs from January 2026 to December 2028, spanning a 36-month period. The project addresses the growing need to preserve cultural heritage objects that are not static, but dynamic in nature, such as mechanisms, structures and artefacts with moving or interacting components. By capturing both their physical form and internal complexity, KINETIKA introduces a new paradigm for understanding heritage objects as living systems rather than static exhibits.
