Benefiting from a dynamic combination of diverse talents, experiences and expertise, the Corporate Management Team of UBITECH ensures the effective and transparent corporate governance fostering the confidence of our personnel, partners and customers in the management of the company.
The Corporate Management Team of UBITECH consists of five members, each one of which holds the responsibility of a concrete business area wherein UBITECH operates. Additionally, the Corporate Management Team is flanked by a group of executives specialized in vertical technologies or markets.

Dimitris Alexandrou, Business Services Director, Responsible for the Corporate Overseas Activities, the Greek Public Sector Tenders and IT Projects, the Private Sector Projects, and the IT Consulting Services.
Dimitris Alexandrou was born in Athens, Greece in 1978. He received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in July 2004. His Diploma Thesis was in the area of Mobile and Personal Communications (Location Based Services in Wireless LANs). In 2014, he received his PhD in the Information Management Unit of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering at NTUA in the area of Self-Adaptive Healthcare Business Processes (Clinical Pathways) by Utilising Semantic Web Technologies. His research interests lay in the field of Healthcare Business Processes, Semantic Technologies and Expert Systems. He has been working as an R&D consultant with European Profiles S.A. and EPIS Ltd. He has sixteen (16) years of experience in participating in the implementation of EU co-funded projects IST, ICT, FP7, and H2020 projects and seven years of experience in managing ICT project teams. He is co-founder and the Business Services Director of UBITECH, and he manages and participates in a number of commercial and research ICT projects developing technological infrastructures that aim to leverage knowledge sharing in the aforementioned fields. In particular, he was the Project Manager and the responsible for the delivery of the two (2) international commercial projects and their extensions (more than 4,5 million USD in total), wherein UBITECH is the sole contractor and implementor, regarding the delivery of digital archives/repositories and digital signature components, and the realization of the secure exchange of legalized civil-status documents among a) the civil-status registries of the sixteen member-states of the International Commission of Civil Status, and b) the civil-status offices of the twenty four autonomous provinces of the Government of Argentina. These two (2) large scale projects constitute the main Case Studies of one of UBITECH key software solutions, namely XCHANGE, the Qualified e-Delivery Hub. A software infrastructure that facilitates the secure document and data exchange among trusted entities. Additionally, he was the project manager of two nationally co-funded project in the e-Health domain, namely RF-CURE that utilised RFID technology, as well as CARE-PATHS, that led to a Clinical Pathways Management and Execution environment. Moreover, he was the technical responsible for the execution of FP7 LinkedDesign project in the field of Factories of the Future. He has published about 15 scientific papers in international journals and conferences, all in the field of Information and Communications Technologies in Healthcare and has served as reviewer in international conferences and journals. He is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Panagiotis Gouvas, R&D Director, Responsible for the Projects Execution and Delivery, the Evaluation and Validation of New Technologies, the IT Security Services and the Corporate Standardization Activities.
Panagiotis Gouvas graduated in 2004 from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (Greece). His Diploma Thesis was in the area of Mobile and Personal Communications (Location Based Services in Wireless LANs). In 2004, he started his PhD in the Information Management Unit of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering at NTUA in the area of autonomic service computing. In particular, he conducted research in the domain of service provisioning in Mesh Environments. He actively participated in the creation of UbiChord, a Distributed Hash Table implementation, which is able to operate on top of unreliable mesh environments and incorporates several bio-inspired mechanisms that facilitate the creation of autonomic services. With regard to his professional experience, during 2001-2004, he was working as software developer in the company European Profiles S.A. Since 2005, he is the co-founder and R&D Director of UBITECH. His research interests lay in the field of Autonomic Computing, Security, post-SOA Architectures, HPC and Cloud Computing. He actively participated in many research and commercial projects in the fields mentioned above. In particular, he has gained considerable experience in the field of Cloud and Software technologies (indicative projects include PrEstoCloud H2020, UNICORN H2020, ARCADIA H2020, INPUT H2020, STRATEGIC CIP-PSP, Broker@Cloud FP7, PaaSport FP7 and Cloud4SOA FP7), Cloud and IT Security (indicative projects include ANASTACIA H2020, PaaSword H2020, FI-STAR FI-PPP and Linked2Safety FP7), Cyber-Physical Risk Assessment and Management (indicative projects include MITIGATE H2020 and MEDUSA CIPS/ISEC), Big Data and Data Analytics (indicative projects include AEGIS H2020, BigDataOcean H2020 and LinDA FP7). As a matter of fact, he is the Technical Coordinator of the PaaSword project on Cloud Security and the Scientific & Technical Coordinator of the ARCADIA project on Software Development Paradigms over programmable and reconfigurable infrastructures (about 8 million Euros budget in total), while he has undertaken the technical integration lead of the UNICORN, PrEstoCloud, ANASTACIA, BigDataOcean and AEGIS projects of the European Commission (more than 20 million Euros budget in total). From the commercial perspective, he has been the Technical Manager and Software Architect of the two large scale deployments of the UBITECH’s XCHANGE Qualified e-Delivery Hub for Secure Data and Document Exchange (at the International Commission for Civil Status in Strasbourg and at the National Registry of Persons of the Republic of Argentina), as well as a large scale deployment of the ubi:indexer reverse indexing, semantic enrichment and semantic search services platform of UBITECH at the Greek Police, implementing a set of complex search utilities of the Greek Police Big Digital Archive that contains more than fifty millions digital documents (total value of UBITECH contracts and extensions: over 4,5 million USD). Finally, he actively contributes in the standardization committee of Autonomic Future Internet (AFI) organized by ETSI (scheduled standard at May 2010), he is a Member of Technical Committee of OASIS Cloud Application Management for Platforms (Schema CAMP) led by Oracle and Red Hat for the formulation, creation and standardization a Cloud Platform-as-a-Service Management API, and he is the Workshop Leader of DIN SPEC 91337 dealing with Unified Application Management Interface for Cloud Application Platforms.
Thanassis Bouras, Business Development Director, Responsible for the Development of European and National Co-funded Research Programmes, and the Company Participation in International Tenders.
Thanassis Bouras holds a Diploma from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and leads the business development and innovation management department of UBITECH, since 2005. In the past, he has worked on several ATHOC (ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games) Risk Management and Business Continuity projects. In UBITECH, he has built outstanding expertise in project management though his participation in the administrative and financial management of various large-scale information technology projects, the quality assurance of IT (research and commercial/industrial) projects, the work-packages leadership, the leadership of technical and implementation teams in various commercial IT projects as well as National and EU co-funded projects. Moreover, he has gained experience in various forms of National, European and International procurements for software outsourcing, engineering and development services with budget ranging from 0,5-3 million Euros, through his participation in and/or management of the entire bid cycle from the definition of the technical proposal and the budget structure to the successful implementation of the contract. With regard to research initiatives, during the last 12 years, he has participated as research engineer and technical team leader in several EC and National co-funded projects. In particular, he has gained considerable experience in the field of Cloud and Software technologies (indicative projects include PrEstoCloud H2020, UNICORN H2020, ARCADIA H2020, PaaSport FP7 and Cloud4SOA FP7), Cloud and Digital Security (indicative projects include ANASTACIA H2020 and PaaSword H2020), Security and Data Privacy in eHealth (indicative projects include SAGE-CARE H2020, FI-STAR FI-PPP and Linked2Safety FP7), Big Data and Data Analytics (indicative projects include AEGIS H2020, BigDataOcean H2020, LinDA FP7, GRANATUM FP7 and Linked2Media FP7), Internet of Things and Energy Efficiency (indicative projects include ENTROPY H2020), Factories of the Future (indicative projects include FALCON H2020 and LinkedDesign FP7) Semantic Interoperability and SOA (indicative projects include FUSION IST, EMPOWER SME, SEMANTIX EUROSTARS). Finally, he is the Quality Manager of the UNICORN, PaaSword, Cloud4SOA, GRANATUM and Linked2Safety projects (more than 20 million Euros budget, in total). Kostas Perakis, Senior R&D Solutions Analyst, Responsible for the Management and the Quality Assurance of Research Projects, and the Architectural Design of Innovative Platforms.
Kostas Perakis was born in Athens, Greece in 1979. He received his diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in October 2003. He received his M.Sc. in Techno-Economical Systems in 2005 and his Ph.D degree in Medical Informatics in 2009. Since 2004 he has been active in a number of European and National R&D programs, through which he has gained considerable experience in the field of e-Health and m-Health (indicative projects include Linked2Safety ICT and MARK1 respectively), Cloud Computing & Cloud interoperability (indicative projects include PaaSword H2020-ICT), Big Data Analytics (indicative projects include OPTIMUM H2020), Data Analytics and Mining (indicative projects include LinDA ICT) and Security (indicative projects include Linked2Safety ICT, SHIELD FI-STAR and PaaSword H2020-ICT). Dr. Perakis has excellent communication and mediation skills, and the ability to deal well with people in many different contexts, which he has gained through his participation in multi-national consortia within the context of European projects. He has published more than 20 scientific papers in international journals and conferences as well as two book chapters, all in the field of Information and Telecommunications Technologies, and has served as reviewer and chairman in international journals and conferences. Dr. Perakis has also served as a reviewer for R&D projects for the European Commission, and is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – EMBS Society and Computer Society, and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Greek Society of Biomedical Technology.
Anastasios Zafeiropoulos, Senior R&D Architect, Responsible for preparing, designing, organizing and delivering research initiatives in the Future Internet, Cloud/Utility Computing and Energy Efficiency domains.
Anastasios Zafeiropoulos received the Dipl.-Ing. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, and the M.Sc. degree in public policy and management from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is currently a Senior R&D Architect with UBITECH, focusing mainly on the design and implementation of innovative technical solutions on the fields of SDN/NFV, IoT, open/linked data, data mining and analytics and energy efficient IT technologies. In the past, he worked as a Senior Project Manager in the Greek Research & Technology Network (GRNET) where he was responsible for the Green IT activities while he also interacted with multiple parties at various levels and coordinated national and European research projects. He has also worked as an associate researcher in the National Technical University of Athens with active participation in national funded research projects and teaching/educational activities. He has acquired great experience in the area of next generation networking, green IT, software defined functionalities (SDN/NFV technologies), and at the design of context-aware, data management, and linked-data oriented solutions. He has co-authored over 40 publications in high level international journals and conferences.

Danae Vergeti, Senior Software Engineer, Responsible for the Architectural Design, Implementation and Deployment of Integrated, Tailored-made IT and Secure Data Exchange Solutions.
Danae Vergeti received her undergraduate degree from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of the University of Patras at 2005. Her Diploma Thesis was in the area of web personalization. In the frames of her Master she conducted research in the domain of Semantic Web Mining. She developed an algorithm and a methodology for identifying the semantic content and conceptual orientation of the user behavior on the Web. The outcome of her thesis is a recommendation system, based on semantics, taxonomy topology and usage mining. Working currently as a Senior Software Engineer at UBITECH, Danae Vergeti leads the customization, deployment and configuration of the Secure Data Exchange Platform of UBITECH at international, large-scale, commercial setups, such as the International Commission for Civil Status (ICCS-CIEC) and the Ministry of Interior and Transport of the Republic of Argentina.
Eleni Fotopoulou, Senior Software Engineer, Responsible for the Business Development Activities and the IT Projects Delivery in Spanish-speaking Countries.
Eleni Fotopoulou was born in Athens, Greece, in 1984. She received her degree in Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, on April 2009. She completed her thesis on the “Design, Implementation and Installation of Web Platform for the management needs of Backpackers entity located in Guatemala”, on March 2009. Her Final Project has been a collaborative project which was organized by the UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya) and funded by the Centre for Cooperation CCD-Centre de Cooperacio per al Desenvolupament. Ms. Eleni Fotopoulou is currently working as a senior software engineer at UBITECH Ltd (in various projects that are mostly developped with J2EE and Web 2.0 technologies) participating in R&D and commercial projects which are focused on business issues and semantic interoperability. Her research interests are in the field of Web security , interoperability and semantic tecnologies, while the last year has worked in various projects (ICCS-CIEC Data Exchange Platform of Civil Status Documents for the European member States, PISD – Data Exchange Platform of Civil Status Documents for Argentina).
Alexandros Argyriadis, Financial Affairs Manager, Responsible for the Corporate Accounting, the National and International Contracts, and the Company Taxation Issues.
Alexandros Argyriadis was born in Athens, Greece in 1982. He received his diploma in Economics from the University of Greenwich, based in London of UK, in Aug 2002. He has published several papers in cooperation with the University of Greenwich, among them in Economics and Politics in the UK, Macroeconomics and Computing in Economics. Since 2002 he is working as consultant in accounting and economic affairs for several companies. Since 2005, after the establishment of UBITECH and its initiation of business activities, he acts as a consultant and responsible for Financial Affairs, Corporate Accounting, National and International Contracts, as well as the Company’s Financial Issues.
