UBITECH Leads Technology Integration in EU’s EVOSST Research Project to Revolutionize Social Services

UBITECH announces its participation in the EVOSST (Evaluation and Valorization of Social Services for a Sustainable Transition) Research & Innovation Action, which officially launched on February 1, 2025. UBITECH is actively driving Work Package 5 (WP5), focusing on “Advanced Technology Development, Integration, and Impact Evaluation,” as part of this groundbreaking European project. The EVOSST project, hosted by the University of Western Macedonia in Kozani, Greece, aims to enhance the efficiency, understanding, and overall effectiveness of social services across the European Union. It is funded by the European Commission under Grant Agreement No. 101178789 and spans from February 2025 to January 2028.

The overarching goal of EVOSST is to implement a framework that evaluates and valorizes social services, supporting the EU’s commitment to social inclusion, cohesion, and the long-term sustainability of its social policies. Through a focus on healthcare, childcare, long-term care, education, and inclusion, EVOSST aims to provide valuable insights into the long-term impacts of social services, contributing to the EU’s broader vision for sustainable development and inclusive growth.

UBITECH’s involvement in WP5 will see the development and integration of cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) into social services. The work package aims to enhance the accessibility, efficiency, and effectiveness of social services, particularly for diverse demographic groups. By leveraging AI and VR, UBITECH will demonstrate how technological innovations can improve service delivery and user engagement, ultimately leading to better social outcomes. WP5’s objectives include the development of piloted technology platforms that will not only improve the delivery of social services but also generate valuable data on the impact of these technologies. Detailed reports will be produced to guide future integrations, ensuring that social service systems are more effective and efficient in meeting the needs of EU citizens.

The EVOSST project is closely aligned with the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) and incorporates a ‘beyond GDP perspective’ to enhance well-being metrics that prioritize health, education, and societal cohesion. The project is a crucial step toward the digital transformation of social services in the EU and UBITECH’s role is pivotal in advancing these objectives.

As the project progresses, UBITECH is confident that the outcomes of WP5 will not only impact the future of social service delivery but also provide a roadmap for integrating innovative technologies across the European social policy landscape.
