UBITECH is proud to announce its participation in DIGI-METER – Measuring Digital Competence for Resilient Learning Ecosystems, a new 36-month Erasmus+ Forward-Looking Project coordinated by the Center for Social Innovation (CSI), Cyprus, which officially started in March 2026. Bringing together 11 partners from 8 European countries (Greece, Cyprus, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, and Belgium), DIGI-METER aims to transform the way digital competences are assessed, monitored, and supported across European education systems. DIGI-METER addresses one of the key challenges in European education: translating the DigComp 2.2 framework into practical, reliable, and evidence-based assessment tools that support learners, educators, institutions, and policymakers. The project will develop an adaptive, AI-powered digital competence assessment ecosystem featuring multilingual self-assessment tools, intelligent analytics dashboards, and policy-oriented resources. Designed with an ethics-by-design approach, the platform will ensure transparency, explainability, fairness, GDPR compliance, and alignment with the EU AI Act, while promoting inclusive and personalized learning experiences.
he project primarily targets secondary and vocational education, while maintaining the flexibility to scale its solutions to adult learning environments. Through large-scale pilot activities in five European countries, DIGI-METER will validate its innovative tools in terms of usability, reliability, inclusiveness, and educational impact. The project will ultimately deliver an open-access ecosystem including a DigComp-aligned indicator matrix, digital assessment toolkits, analytics services, and policy-ready resources that will support ministries of education, curriculum developers, quality assurance agencies, schools, and VET providers.
The DIGI-METER consortium officially launched the project during its Kick-off Meeting, hosted by Approximar in Amadora, Portugal, on 12–13 May 2026. The meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners (CSI, SciCo, UBITECH, Approximar, Lascò, Outside Media & Knowledge, Syncnify, CEC, AB Corporation, Ergonact, and Crow Group) to establish the project’s technical roadmap, coordinate the initial work packages, and align on the collaborative activities that will drive the project’s implementation over the next three years.
Within the consortium, UBITECH plays a central technological role as the leader of Work Package 3 – Tool Design, Development & Integration. Our company is responsible for the design, development, and integration of the DIGI-METER platform, delivering the project’s core digital infrastructure that will seamlessly combine AI-powered assessment tools, adaptive testing mechanisms, analytics capabilities, and interoperable services into a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform. By leading the platform development activities, UBITECH will contribute its extensive expertise in software engineering, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, interoperability, and secure digital platforms to ensure that the project delivers an innovative, trustworthy, and sustainable technological solution for digital competence assessment.
UBITECH is delighted to contribute to this ambitious European initiative and looks forward to collaborating closely with all project partners in developing the DIGI-METER Platform that will strengthen digital education ecosystems, empower educators and learners, and support evidence-based policymaking across Europe.
We are excited to begin this journey and to contribute to building a more resilient, equitable, and future-ready digital education landscape for Europe.
