UBITECH Represents the ORION Horizon Europe Project at the 2026 Projects to Policy Seminar in Brussels

UBITECH, as the coordinator of the Horizon Europe project ORION, proudly represented the project at the 2026 Projects to Policy Seminar (PPS), held on 10–11 June 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. Jointly organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) and the European Research Executive Agency (REA), the event brought together nearly 150 participants representing 36 newly funded Horizon Europe Cluster 3 security projects, alongside representatives from European Commission services, EU agencies, policymakers and security practitioners. The seminar provided an important platform for strengthening dialogue between research, innovation and European security policy.

UBITECH Joins Flagship “AI.grids” Initiative to Co-Develop Sovereign AI Models for Next-Generation Energy Grids

UBITECH has joined AI.grids, a project set up under the aegis of, and chaired by, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER). At the signature ceremony held in Brussels, representatives from all 48 consortium members formally confirmed their participation: CRESYME.DSOENTSO-E, and T&D Europe, alongside 18 grid operators (6 DSOs and 12 TSOs), 21 research organisations, and 5 other industry players. UBITECH joins this consortium to contribute to the design, training, and deployment of EU sovereign AI foundation models engineered to revolutionize energy grid management and long-term infrastructure planning.

UBITECH’s Dr. Thanassis Giannetsos Co-Authors New IETF Internet-Draft on Direct Anonymous Attestation, as Standard Adopts UBITECH’s Open-Source DAA-A Library

UBITECH, a European software house specializing in advanced AI and cybersecurity solutions, announced today that Dr. Thanassis Giannetsos, Head of the Secure Systems & Trusted Computing Research Group, is among the authors of a new Internet-Draft published by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF): “Direct Anonymous Attestation for the Remote Attestation Procedures Architecture.” The draft, developed within the IETF’s Remote ATtestation ProcedureS (RATS) Working Group, is co-authored with researchers from Fraunhofer SIT, the University of Surrey, and Microsoft, and is available at draft-ietf-rats-daa-09.

UBITECH’s Energy Digitalisation Group Joins Core Development Team of Harvard SEAS-Maintained PowerAgent Community

In a major step forward for AI in energy, UBITECH’s Energy Digitalisation Group participates directly in the core development team of PowerAgent, an open-source community maintained by the Power and AI Initiative (PAI) at Harvard SEAS and dedicated to accelerating the development of LLM-powered tools and agentic AI in the power systems domain. PowerAgent forms the flagship “AI for Power” workstream within PAI’s broader research portfolio, which spans 14 projects exploring both AI for Power and Power for AI, including data centre–grid co-design and energy-aware LLM training and inference.

UBITECH Joins DIGI-METER to Advance Digital Competence Assessment Across Europe

UBITECH is proud to announce its participation in DIGI-METER – Measuring Digital Competence for Resilient Learning Ecosystems, a new 36-month Erasmus+ Forward-Looking Project coordinated by the Center for Social Innovation (CSI), Cyprus, which officially started in March 2026. Bringing together 11 partners from 8 European countries (Greece, Cyprus, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, and Belgium), DIGI-METER aims to transform the way digital competences are assessed, monitored, and supported across European education systems. DIGI-METER addresses one of the key challenges in European education: translating the DigComp 2.2 framework into practical, reliable, and evidence-based assessment tools that support learners, educators, institutions, and policymakers. The project will develop an adaptive, AI-powered digital competence assessment ecosystem featuring multilingual self-assessment tools, intelligent analytics dashboards, and policy-oriented resources. Designed with an ethics-by-design approach, the platform will ensure transparency, explainability, fairness, GDPR compliance, and alignment with the EU AI Act, while promoting inclusive and personalized learning experiences.

UBITECH’s Dr. Thanassis Giannetsos Contributes to Key IETF Standard on Remote Attestation Security

UBITECH announced today that Dr. Thanassis Giannetsos, Head of the Secure Systems & Trusted Computing Research Group, has contributed to the editing of the “Remote Attestation with Multiple Verifiers” Request for Comments (RFC) draft for the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The draft, published as part of the IETF’s Remote ATtestation procedureS (RATS) working group, addresses critical challenges in establishing trust across distributed computing environments by enabling remote attestation processes involving multiple verification entities. This standardization effort is particularly relevant for securing complex systems including IoT deployments, cloud infrastructure, and critical industrial environments.
