UBITECH speaks about Post-Quantum Hardware Root of Trust at the Trusted Computing Group Japan Regional Forum in Tokyo

UBITECH’s Secure Systems and Trusted Computing Research Group brought European post-quantum cryptography research to Tokyo this month, representing the Digital Europe-funded PiQASO project at the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Japan Regional Forum (JRF) Workshop, held 10–13 February 2026. Dr. Thanassis Giannetsos, Head of the Secure Systems and Trusted Computing Research Group at UBITECH and Technical Coordinator of PiQASO, attended alongside Stefanos Vasileiadis, Tech Leader for Trusted Computing within the same group. The pair engaged directly with an international community of standards bodies, hardware vendors, and government representatives shaping the next generation of trusted computing infrastructure.

UBITECH Leads AI-Powered Energy Co-Pilot Development Leveraging HPC within the European FFplus Initiative

UBITECH leads the development of a generative AI-powered energy co-pilot as the Main Participant in a success story under the European FFplus initiative, advancing the use of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) to support the energy transition.

The solution addresses a critical challenge in Europe’s path toward climate neutrality: enabling citizens and energy stakeholders to better understand, navigate, and actively participate in increasingly complex energy systems. Limited energy literacy, combined with the lack of intuitive digital tools, continues to slow down the adoption of renewable solutions and the active participation of consumers in modern energy ecosystems.

UBITECH Joins the GENz-trials IHI-funded Initiative to Revolutionize Clinical Trials and Optimize Assessment of Healthcare Innovations

UBITECH is proud to announce its participation in GENz-trials, an ambitious new project funded under the Innovative Health Initiative Joint Undertaking (IHI JU) under Grant Agreement No. 101252995. The project officially launched with its Kick-off Meeting held on 26–27 February 2026 in Thessaloniki, Greece, hosted by the coordinating partner Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Spanning 48 months (January 2026 – December 2029), GENz-trials brings together a multidisciplinary European consortium committed to fundamentally rethinking the clinical trial paradigm through data science, AI automation, and simulation technologies. As a matter of fact, UBITECH participates in this next-generation IHI-funded clinical trial initiative that harnesses federated AI, digital twins, and synthetic control arms to transform how clinical research is designed, conducted, and evaluated across Europe.

UBITECH Joins the IRONPLAN EDF Research Action Towards Next-Generation Command and Control Systems

UBITECH is pleased to announce its participation in IRONPLAN — Integrated Reconfigurable Operational Planning, Navigation, Communication, and Coordination — a newly launched Research Action funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF). The project officially kicked off on 17–18 February 2026 in Cyprus, hosted by the coordinating partner Cyprus Research and Innovation Center Ltd (CYRIC), bringing together a strong European consortium committed to reinforcing the EU’s strategic autonomy in defence technologies. Running from December 2025 to November 2028, IRONPLAN (GA Nr. 101224513) is a 36-month initiative that aims to empower the European Union with technological independence in the development of next-generation Command and Control (C2) systems. The project sets out to create the first ‘smart,’ transparent, and verifiable C2 system, seamlessly integrating robotic and autonomous systems (RAS) across all areas of military operations, while leveraging EU-funded technologies and developing new ones where needed.

UBITECH Joins WEM Cyber to Strengthen Women’s Participation and Excellence in Cybersecurity Across Europe

UBITECH is pleased to announce its participation in the WEM Cyber project (Widening Excellence and Mentoring in Cybersecurity), a 36-month Horizon Europe initiative, with Grant Agreement Number 101216854, officially launched at its Kick-off Meeting on 27 February 2026, hosted by Bilisim Vadisi in Istanbul, Turkey. The project brings together a multidisciplinary European consortium committed to advancing women’s careers in cybersecurity, fostering academia–industry collaboration, and building research capacity across Widening countries. WEM Cyber’s mission is to boost women’s participation and expertise in cybersecurity through targeted secondments, mentorship, and skills development programmes. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, the project aims to build research capacity and facilitate knowledge exchange, equipping participants with the entrepreneurial and leadership skills necessary to excel, and thereby contribute to the mitigation of brain drain in widening countries.
