UBITECH proudly announces its participation in the newly launched EU-funded research initiative 3D-CIRCULAR (Digital Deep tech Driven Circular Economy), which officially kicked off with a consortium meeting hosted by the University of the Aegean on September 3 and 4, 2025, in Mytilene. 3D-CIRCULAR brings together 32 leading organizations from 14 European countries, uniting universities, research institutes, SMEs, and industry players to foster Europe’s twin green and digital transition. The project’s core mission is to bridge the deep-tech skills gap by developing next-generation Master’s and PhD programmes, professional certifications, and lifelong learning pathways that combine advanced digital technologies with circular economy principles.
UBITECH participates through its Energy Digitalisation (EDG) Research Group, led by Dr. Magda Foti, Head of Group. EDG will contribute its expertise in digital innovation for the energy transition, helping design training frameworks that empower professionals and young talents to drive sustainable growth in Europe’s circular economy.
“The digital and green transitions go hand in hand, and at UBITECH we are committed to equipping Europe’s workforce with the tools and knowledge to lead this change,” said Dr. Foti. “Through 3D-CIRCULAR, we will shape an educational ecosystem that blends cutting-edge deep tech with sustainability, ensuring long-term impact.”
Funded under the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), the project will run for four years and is set to have a measurable impact on workforce reskilling and upskilling across Europe.
