UBITECH delivers a web platform for the digital registration and issuance of nationality e-documents for Greek ocean-going vessels

UBITECH is proud to announce the implementation and launch of an innovative platform for the digital registration and issuance of nationality e-documents for Greek ocean-going vessels (niologio.gov.gr). In a ceremony, in the frame of the International Exhibition “POSIDONIA 2024”, at the stand of the Hellenic Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, the first digital application for vessel registration (“niologio”) and the issuance of the corresponding e-document were demonstrated. This groundbreaking platform was presented by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Christos Stylianidis, the Deputy Minister for Digital Governance, Konstantinos Kyranakis, and the President of the Union of Greek Shipowners, Melinna Travlou, who received the very first digital Certificate of Nationality.

This cutting-edge software solution revolutionizes the traditional process by simplifying and fully digitizing the issuance of these essential documents. Developed by UBITECH, the platform enables shipowners to submit registration applications online, reducing paperwork and minimizing processing times. Upon approval, the e-document is issued instantly, featuring unique system codes and QR codes for authenticity verification.

The platform encompasses several modules: a) Application Submission: Shipowners can now complete and submit registration applications digitally, including all necessary fields and attachments; b) Ministry Processing: The platform streamlines the review process, allowing ministry officials to efficiently verify and approve applications; c) Digital Certificate: The issued e-document is available within minutes of approval, bearing digital signatures and authentication measures; and d) Online Payment: The platform integrates a secure payment system for all relevant fees and contributions associated with the registration process.

UBITECH’s team of experts has successfully developed a user-friendly and comprehensive system, transforming the traditional paper-based process into a streamlined digital journey. This innovation reinforces Greece’s leadership in maritime affairs and aligns with the government’s vision for a more efficient and citizen-centric public sector. We are honored to contribute to the digitization of Greece’s maritime administration, fostering a simpler and more accessible nautical documentation process for shipowners and authorities alike. With this milestone, UBITECH continues its commitment to driving technological advancement and innovation in the country.
