UBITECH is excited to be the only Greek participant at the 1st FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship

UBITECH is proud to be among the 284 companies worldwide, including tech giants as Amazon, Samsung, Microsoft, Facebook and Siemens, as well as large industries like Ford Motor Company and Gazprom, that have formulated teams that will compete at the 1st FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship (https://worldcorporate.fide.com/), starting today Friday, February 19. The first FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship, organized by the International Chess Federation and Chess.com, constitutes an online team competition that takes place on February 19-21, 2021. Companies in industries spanning from finance to tech, covering countries all around the world, will unite in this event to grow the game of chess and showcase its importance.

In this first FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship, India is represented by more than 70 teams, setting a record among 78 participating countries. Russia is represented by 28 teams, including the top-seed Сбер, headed by Ian Nepomniachtchi. UBITECH is the only Greek company participating in the championship. The line-ups are no less impressive. World Champion Magnus Carlsen himself is on top of the list, playing for Kindred Group (which encompasses Unibet, the company that sponsors him). There are also Anish Giri (Optiver Europe), Vladislav Artemiev (Аэрофлот – Российские авиалинии), Radoslaw Wojtaszek (WASKO), Nihal Sarin (Akshayakalpa), and many more, total 38 Grandmasters take part.
