UBITECH presents the RAINBOW Trusted Fog Computing paradigm at the annual EGI conference

UBITECH participated at the annual EGI Conference 2020 (EGI2020) presenting the RAINBOW Research and Innovation Action (funded by the H2020 framework of the European Commission). EGI2020 took place on November 4, 2020 as a virtual teleconference, where different actors from a range of fields participated and presented their projects and products. The theme of this year conference was “Federated infrastructures for connected communities” with the aim to bring together science, computing, and (international) collaboration through a diverse and interactive programme. Representing UBITECH, Mr. Konstantinos Theodosiou presented the RAINBOW project concept, objectives and achievements towards the realization of Trusted Fog Computing. In particular, RAINBOW proposes a novel platform that simplifies the deployment and management of scalable, heterogeneous and secure IoT services. With RAINBOW, fog computing can reach its true potential by providing the deployment, orchestration, network fabric and data management for scalable and secure edge applications, addressing the need to timely process the ever-increasing amount of data continuously gathered from heterogeneous IoT devices and appliances.
