UBITECH Unveils AI-Driven Revival of Iconic Voices at the 4th ARTience International Conference on Voice

UBITECH is set to make a groundbreaking contribution to the 4th ARTience International Conference on Voice with a keynote presentation titled, “The Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Culture and Art: Reviving Two Worldwide Personas.” The conference, taking place in Athens on October 12-13, 2024, seeks to explore the role of science in vocal education and expand the horizons of vocal artistry. In its keynote, UBITECH will reveal an innovative project that merges technology with cultural heritage, reviving the voices of two globally renowned Greek figures through the power of AI: Maria Callas, the iconic opera singer, and George Seferis, the Nobel Prize-winning poet and diplomat. Through advanced AI technology, UBITECH has meticulously reconstructed their distinct voices, giving modern audiences an unparalleled opportunity to experience their artistic genius in a fresh and immersive way.

Maria Callas, known for her extraordinary vocal range and dramatic intensity, remains one of the most influential opera singers of the 20th century. UBITECH’s AI-based voice synthesis has faithfully resurrected her unique timbre and dynamic expression, allowing today’s listeners to experience the passion and precision that made Callas a legend in her field. In parallel, UBITECH has also revived the profound voice of George Seferis, whose introspective poetry and diplomatic achievements earned him the Nobel Prize in Literature. Using AI to recreate the voice with which he read his own deeply reflective verses, UBITECH offers a powerful new medium through which Seferis’ thoughtful pauses and emotional depth can be heard once again.

“Our goal is not only to reconstruct these voices but to bridge the gap between history and modern technology, allowing new generations to experience the cultural significance of these two towering figures,” said Dr. Dimitris Alexandrou, Co-founder and Business Innovation Director of UBITECH. “This project stands at the intersection of art, literature, and artificial intelligence, showcasing the potential of AI to preserve and revitalize cultural heritage.”

UBITECH’s presentation will provide insight into the complex technical methodologies used in voice reconstruction, including neural network training, machine learning algorithms, and the cultural considerations necessary for faithfully capturing the essence of these legendary figures. Attendees will also explore the profound educational and emotional impact this AI-driven revival holds for future generations, allowing modern audiences to connect with their voices in a way never before possible.

The 4th ARTience International Conference on Voice brings together experts in vocal art and science, aiming to shed light on unexplored areas of vocal education and performance. UBITECH’s participation will highlight the transformative potential of AI in enhancing the educational and artistic landscape, with a particular focus on the convergence of technology and cultural preservation.
