UBITECH’s Thanassis Giannetsos to Present at 5GAA Online Session on Trust in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles

UBITECH is proud to announce that Dr Thanassis Giannetsos, Head of the Secure Systems & Trusted Computing (SST) Research Group, has been invited to give a keynote talk at the 5G Automotive Association’s (5GAA) upcoming online session, titled “Building Trust in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles: Insights & Innovations.” This prestigious event will take place virtually and aims to address the critical issue of trust in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), leveraging 5G technologies to build a secure future in mobility.

Drawing from his experience as coordinator of the EU-funded CONNECT project, Dr Giannetsos will deliver a presentation on “Roadmap Towards Adoption of Dynamic Trust Assurances for Sustainability in CCAM (Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility).” His talk will focus on the emerging need for Zero-Trust architectures and Trusted Computing frameworks to ensure the security and sustainability of connected vehicle ecosystems.

As CAVs rely on constant communication with other vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and cloud-based services, the integrity and trustworthiness of this data are paramount. During his presentation, Prof. Giannetsos will introduce CONNECT’s innovative framework for assessing trust in V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communications, providing insights into how trust is established between vehicles and how dynamic trust assurances can lead to a more secure and reliable mobility future.

The event will also explore key insights from 5GAA’s whitepaper, released earlier this year, which discusses how trust can be established and maintained in connected environments. This session brings together leading voices from automotive, technology, and telecommunications sectors to collaborate on developing secure, end-to-end solutions for the mobility of tomorrow.
