UBITECH participates at the kick-off of the PAROMA-MED Research and Innovation Action on Privacy Preserving Distributed Machine Learning for Medical Apps

UBITECH participated at the kick-off meeting hosted by EURESCOM in Heidelberg, Germany (September 8-9, 2022) of the PAROMA-MED Research and Innovation Action, officially started on July 1st, 2022. The project is funded by European Commission under Horizon Europe Programme (Grant Agreement No. 101070222) and spans on the period July 2022 – June 2025. PAROMA-MED aims to develop, validate and evaluate a platform-based hybrid-cloud delivery framework for privacy- and security- assured services and applications in federative cross-border environments.

UBITECH successfully concluded the DOOR cascading grant project from NGI eSSIF-LAB

UBITECH successfully concluded the DOOR project (Hardware Roots of Trust as an Enabler of Trustworthiness in Digital Transactions) that empowers participating entities in the ESSIF-Framework to establish trust by providing strong verifiable evidence and assurances on the origin and integrity of the presented verifiable credentials. DOOR achieves this goal by building a trusted layer between interacting parties that is based on strong cryptographic privacy-preserving tools. In this way, DOOR can enable the handling of VCs requiring higher level of assurances locally at the holder’s wallet.

UBITECH presents a scientific paper on Zero-Knowledge Proof at the 2022 International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security (ARES)

The paper entitled “ZEKRO: Zero-Knowledge Proof of Integrity Conformance” has been accepted for presentation at the 2022 International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security (ARES), that will be held in August 23-26, 2021 in Vienna and will be also published by the International Conference Proceedings Series published by ACM ICPS.

UBITECH’s Thanassis Giannetsos talks about new attestation schemes at the TCG Members Meeting

In the frame of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Members physical meeting, that takes place in Washington, US, between 18-22 July 2022, Dr Thanassis Giannetsos, Head of UBITECH’s Digital Security & Trusted Computing Research Group, gives an invited talk about new attestation schemes, revocation scheme as well as the use of Direct Anonymous Attestation (DAA) for enhancing the level of assurance of a device’s wallet when managing and issuing verifiable credentials.

UBITECH’s Dimitris Klonidis gives an invited talk at MCW 2022 on b5G apps for industrial environments

Dr Dimitris Klonidis, Head of the Network Softwarization and IoT research group at UBITECH, was invited to participate in the 12^th Infocom Mobile & Connected world conference (https://mwc.gr/), the largest conference event on 5G in Greece, that was help online on the 12^th of July 022. His talk was on “B5G Applications for Industry 4.0 environments” and he presented the views and related developments of the H2020 5G-INDUCE project for which UBITECH serves as Technical Manager.

UBITECH Energy at OneNet Open Days – Spotlight on the demonstrators

On 27 and 28 June 2022, the H2020 project OneNet is organising a two-part online event to shine a light on the OneNet demonstration clusters. OneNet includes several demos that are organised in four clusters covering the whole of Europe. Each cluster involves multiple DSOs and TSOs to implement new market concepts and new flexibility solutions and test them in a real life environment. In this online event, each demo cluster will briefly present the novel solutions they are bringing to the European electricity sector, followed by a moderated discussion on a specific, distinct topic.

UBITECH participates at the Online workshop on Edge Orchestration

On Tuesday June 21, 2022 at 17:30 CEST, the EC co-funded RAINBOW Research and Innovation Action (https://rainbow-h2020.eu/) is hosting an online workshop on “Edge Orchestration”. In particular, platforms for managing Cloud-only infrastructures, such as Kubernetes or OpenStack are well known. Recently various platforms for managing the Cloud-Edge continuum have started to emerge. Both, academia and industry, have presented innovative ideas for tackling the challenges of this domain over the past years. This workshop presents platforms for managing Cloud-Edge infrastructures and applications deployed on them.

Successful second review of the FARCROSS project

The second review of the FARCROSS H2020 Innovation Action with the external reviewer and the Project Officer from the EC side took place on June 21, 2022, wherein the FARCROSS consortium successfully presented the results of the work of the project during the second year of the project. The FARCROSS project aims to connect major stakeholders of the energy value chain and demonstrate integrated hardware and software solutions that will facilitate the “unlocking” of the resources for cross-border electricity flows and regional cooperation. The project will promote state-of-the-art technologies to enhance the exploitation/capacity/efficiency of transmission grid assets, either on the generation or the transmission level.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) organizes the 4th Summit on Gender Equality in Computing (GEC’22), between June 16-17, 2022, that aims at promoting gender-equal access to the computer-related scientific frontiers, encouraging and educating women and men in an equal way to achieve their goals and utilize their potential in digital professions, as well as at celebrating and disseminating the achievements of computer professionals in a fair and gender-equal way.

UBITECH Energy participated successfully in the 1st technical review meeting of the OneNet H2020 project

UBITECH Energy (UBE) participated successfully in the 1st technical review meeting of the OneNet H2020 project. Mr. Anastasis Tzoumpas, Head of Electrical Power & Energy Systems Unit, as the WP2 leader, presented the main achievements conducted in the context of the first 18 months of the project. Specifically, he presented the advancements regarding the products and services definition in support of OneNet, which aim to set the basis of the work to be done in the OneNet project.
