UBITECH proudly announces its continued sponsorship of Team Europe in the 3rd International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC), set to take place in Santiago, Chile, from October 28 to November 1, 2024. This marks the third consecutive year that UBITECH has supported Team Europe in this prestigious global cybersecurity competition, underscoring its commitment to fostering young talent and advancing cybersecurity expertise across Europe.
The 2024 Team Europe consists of 21 exceptional young cybersecurity talents from 16 different countries, with four additional players placed as substitutes. The team will compete against the world’s best cybersecurity talent in a series of high-level technical challenges designed to test their skills in areas such as cryptography, network security, reverse engineering, and ethical hacking. Among this year’s standout players is Nikolaos Mourousias, a valued member of UBITECH’s Secure Systems & Trusted Computing (SST) Research Group, who has been selected to represent Greece in Team Europe.
UBITECH takes great pride in supporting its team member on this global stage, as well as continuing to contribute to the development and recognition of Europe’s cybersecurity talent. UBITECH has been a committed supporter of Team Europe since the first ICC, which took place in Athens, Greece, in 2021. The company’s ongoing sponsorship aligns with its mission to encourage young professionals to pursue careers in cybersecurity, a field that is becoming increasingly critical for the safety and integrity of digital infrastructures worldwide.
The International Cybersecurity Challenge was initiated by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and is organized in collaboration with regional and international cybersecurity organizations. The challenge aims to attract young talent and raise global awareness of the importance of cybersecurity education and skills development. Each year, the ICC brings together teams from around the world to foster cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange, while providing participants with a unique opportunity to showcase their expertise on a global stage.
“We are thrilled to continue supporting Team Europe and, in particular, to see Nikolaos Mourousias represent Greece at this international competition,” said UBITECH’s Co-founders Dimitris Alexandrou, Thanassis Bouras and Panagiotis Gouvas. “UBITECH is committed to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity experts, and we believe that initiatives like the ICC are essential for nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and ensuring the future resilience of our digital world.”
