UBITECH’s CYGNUS Dual-Use research action is demonstrated by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus

The CYGNUS project, coordinated by UBITECH, also having in the consortium ISTOGNOSIS and ACCELIGENCE, was demonstrated by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus in the frame of European Researcher’s night hosted by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) of Cyprus. The European Researchers ’Night event aims to encourage the public to become familiar with the world of science and research and at the same time to strengthen the public image of researchers, whilst highlighting the important role they play in society. The European Researchers’ Night event has been organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation of Cyprus since 2006, in collaboration with the main actors of the local research and innovation ecosystem (Public and Private Universities, Research Centers, Non-Governmental Organizations, Businesses, etc.).

CYGNUS idea originates from the joint effort of UBITECH, Istognosis and ACCELIGENCE towards the realisation of a self-managed edge-to-cloud platform putting the human-in-the-loop in a causal decision-making process. The AI Model results are reasoned using eXplainable AI (XAI) and the causality of the decisions made are further justified by a Multi-Objectives (M/O) Optimisation Solver. The edge AI Models, XAI and Solver assist end users derive cause-and-effect relationships along with contextual knowledge gained from diverse civilian applications on the field.

UBITECH is an innovative software house, systems integrator and technology provider, established to provide leading edge intelligence solutions to allow the efficient and secure access and communication with various heterogeneous information sources and services, anytime and anywhere.
