UBITECH coordinates TraCEREAL – a new research action on cereal supply chain quality control

UBITECH’s Robotics & Cognitive Systems (RCS) Research Group leads the collaborative research project TraCEREAL, that will result in a Comprehensive Cereal Supply ChainQuality Control and Decision Making Framework for the Cypriot ecosystem. The 24-month TraCEREAL project is funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) of the Republic of Cyprus, in the frame of the CODEVELOP-AG-SH-HE/0823 Call for proposals of the “CO-DEVELOP” research and innovation programme. The TraCEREAL project is dedicated to investigating how Blockchain technology, in conjunction with advanced IoT capabilities, can contribute to the establishment of resilient supply-chain operations within Cyprus. The project’s objective is to develop and showcase a functional prototype system composed an intelligent algorithmic framework, seamlessly integrated with IoT technology, that can assist policymakers and industry stakeholders in constructing more resilient cereal supply chains tailored to the specific needs of Cyprus.

UBITECH kicks off the XR5.0 Research and Innovation Action on human-centric, AI-enabled XR applications for Industry 5.0

UBITECH participates at the kick-off meeting hosted by GFT (February 20 & 21, 2024) in Milan, Italy of the XR5.0: “Human-Centric AI-Enabled Extended Reality Applications for the Industry 5.0 Era” Innovation Action, officially started on January 1st, 2024. The project is funded by the European Commission (Grant Agreement No. 101135209) and spans on the period January 2024 – December 2026. XR5.0 will build, demonstrate, and validate a novel Person-Centric and AI-based XR paradigm that will be tailored to the requirements and nature of I5.0 applications. In this direction, the project will specify structuring principles and blueprints for using XR in I5.0 applications with emphasis on the development of innovative “XR-made-in-Europe” technology that blends with human-centric manufacturing technologies and adheres to European values.

UBITECH kicks off the ARISE Research and Innovation Action to propel AI and Robotics forward in Energy and Agriculture

UBITECH is excited to announce its participation in the kick-off meeting for the ARISE action: “Advanced AI and RobotIcS for autonomous task pErformance”. Hosted by TWI Hellas in Athens, Greece, on February 2, 2024, this initiative marks the beginning of a transformative journey that began officially on January 1st, 2024. Funded by the European Commission (Grant Agreement No. 101135959), the ARISE project spans four years, concluding in December 2027. Its mission is to develop a robotic platform tailored to the Energy and Agriculture sectors, crucial drivers for the European Green Deal’s progress. Specifically, ARISE will focus on automating tasks critical to Solar Panel installation, maintenance, and hydroponic lettuce harvesting.
